Rain or shine, we’re trying to do everything possible to ensure a decent living for our cats. These little bastards were lucky enough to be born so cute and furry no-need-to-work ones!
You will probably agree that we can’t help but spend most of our salaries on their chunky muzzles because we love these muzzles with all our hearts (and wallets).
Cats don’t have enough strength to fend for themselves, so they need us so much, dear friends! As Little Prince, a well-known character created by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, once said, “You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”
Therefore, we want you to ask yourself, “Am I treating my purr king the way His Majesty deserves?”. No doubt, the answer is YES, but our team would like to share with you actual signs you’re taking good care of your cat.
Did you already prepare tasty snacks and cappuccino? Great, let’s go then!
1. Excellent Appetite
Just like healthy people, healthy cats love food. They are always waiting for a long-awaited meal and may even chase your legs when you pass by his plates (it’s eat-time, human!).
In addition, some well-treated cat buddies can respond more enthusiastically to the rustling of their fav snack pack than to your “chh-chh-chh” or “ps-ps-ps”. That’s what a healthy cat’s life is, and you should get used to it as there’s no other way out…
2. Coat Grooming Routine
It seems that cats groom themselves for beauty purposes only, but it’s a half-true. Of course, cats are mad about shining bright like a diamond from Rihanna’s song (how else to attract that cat chick from a neighborhood yard?), although self-grooming for them is something more than good-looking.
There are lots of reasons healthy cats accomplish this routine every day. Firstly, grooming helps your cat be clean and manage his body temperature. Secondly, that’s how he prevents annoying hairballs and eliminates infections or parasites.
Finally, when your cat is stressed, self-licking helps him relieve all negative feelings. This issue manifests through obsessive grooming, which means your cat needs more love, calm, and tasty snacks than ever.
3. Sleeping Beauty Habits
Guess how many hours a healthy cat can sleep per day?
You’ll be surprised, but your little one may be in a Dreamland for up to 20 hours! He can have such “tiny” cat naps anytime and in the most curious places like garden pot, laptop keyboard, or sink.
You see, felines are not picky sleepers. Even though we kindly ask you to monitor your cat’s rest schedule and consult a doctor if he sleeps too little or too much. It takes up most of his life, so it has to be quality and dozy.
4. Biscuits Baking
You can surely tell your cat is contented if he kneads your body or the soft blanket that covers you. This gesture was a carry-over from his childhood when your kitty kneaded mommy’s tummy to get more milk.
Hence, you intend to feel blissful in these moments – this way, your pastry chef tells you, “My human dough, I love you like I love my cat mom. Thanks for treating me so royally.”
5. High and Zestful Tail
The tail is a very vulnerable feline body part. Perhaps you didn’t know, but there is a myriad of tail poses and even more meanings for each of them.
During the day, your cat’s tail can be high, low, question-mark-like, wrapped around, or puffed up, depending on the cat’s emotional state.
The most understandable sign a feline tail can give us is a tail up or tail wag. Both positions signify that you’re doing great, which your cat appreciates. This little guy feels confident near you, considering your place to be his possession, which is a good sign, but you’d better hide your shoes. Territory marking no one has canceled yet 🙂
Notwithstanding, we want to notice that every cat is an individual, so what tail wagging or tail lifting is for one cat can be opposite for another. The best way is to keep an eye on not only tail signs but also other little signals the cat’s body tells you it’s healthy.
6. Playful Spirit
The sign that will tell you the cat is 100 percent happy is his playful attitude. It’s spread not only on playing with toys but hunting, as felines perceive it as a game too. Therefore, don’t scold your little predator for hunting – he’s just a healthy cat searching for some adventures.
But if you’re an adherent of peaceful games, get out all cat toys like lasers, plastic mice, or colorful springs, and let’s check out his mood!
7. Motor-like Purring
Purring is a controversial and complicated thing in a cat’s life because it may signalize whether happiness or nervousness of your chubby friend. Nonetheless, in the two mentioned cases, purring is beneficial for felines.
If your cat is sad after a rough hunting day or a breakup with his cat girlfriend, purring is superb as it will help him to relax. But if he got off on the right foot feeling satisfied, such a motor-like serenade is a good thing as a happy cat equals a happy owner!
8. Chatty Cathy Stuff
Even the most introverted of you will agree that in a narrow circle of loved ones, you become a different person unfolding and spitting it out. Don’t be shocked, but your cat is precisely the same. When he’s more than happy, this little guy can transform into a literal chatterbox!
But you will agree that whether our cats are too silent or talkative, we love and accept them unconditionally, as they are our best friends forever. (Who else will eat with us and watch Netflix at night?)
Dear friend, thank you for reading! Our team hopes your cat lives his best life right now 🙂
Also, if you fell for the article, please, share with your friends the signs they are taking good care of their beloved cats too. It’s the first step to making every cat twice healthier and happier!
